Fumiaki Shingu was born in Fukuoka, Japan, in 1953. He moved to Tokyo after graduating from design school, and he founded a graphic design company in 1984. His origami kits have been sold in Toys“R”Us and other major outlets in Japan. He is also the author of The Ultimate Book of Origami Animals.
