The way we eat (or drink!) can have profound effects on our health and the way we feel each day. Dairy, red meats, processed foods, and alcohol can leave us with inflammation, digestive issues, bad skin, and lethargy. What to do? Drinking juice made with fresh fruits and vegetables is a great way to boost our nutrient intake to heal our bodies and maintain good health.
If you’ve been looking for a simple, homegrown way to boost your immunity, then look no further, because it’s Spinach to the Rescue from Juice + Nourish by nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson!
This recipe is easy to make with just spinach, rosemary, lemon juice, and an apple. Spinach can help strengthen the respiratory system and its vitamin A content helps fight off illness—not to mention spinach is full of antioxidants that help eliminate free radicals that can suppress our immune systems.
Rosemary is an antiviral high in antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory compounds. This common plant may also help boost your mood and improve your memory! In one study, simply smelling Rosemary was shown to improve concentration, performance, and mood.
Add in lemon juice (which alkalizes the body), to help keep us in the best possible shape. Lastly, apples contain quercetin, a flavonoid that may reduce infection risk. As they say, “An apple a day . . .” Drink up and feel better!
