Add Some Slime to Your Halloween Tricks—We Dare You!

Looking to up the creepy-factor for your Halloween party decorations? This slime recipe is perfect for kids ages 2 to 6!

Put it in a bowl with a bit of cooked spaghetti, cover with a box complete with a hand-sized hole, and voila! A “touch the monster guts” station for the kids at the party. Just be sure to have some clean-up wipes handy for after the squeals of gooey fun!

• A large bowl
• Food coloring
• 1 cup warm water, if needed
• 2 cups corn flour
• Dishwashing liquid (optional)
• A whisk for mixing
• 1 cup cooked spaghetti (optional for texture)

If using homemade food coloring heat it slightly without adding water. Otherwise, mix the food coloring and the warm water in a bowl. You can make the slime using cold water or cold food coloring, but the corn flour will be clumpier.

Slowly add the corn flour, mixing and blending as you go. If it’s too runny, add more corn flour; if it’s too firm, add more water. If you want the mixture to be a little more slippery, add a little quirt of dishwashing liquid (too much will cut through the slimy qualities and leave you with a sloppy mess). You should be left with a substance that looks like liquid but is firm to the touch.

This slime recipe looks way worse than it is. It dries hard and floury, so if they drip it through the house, just wait for the mess to dry and vacuum it up.
