Talk and Q&A with author of The Gender Creative Child

May 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

| Free

Gender nonconformity has never been more prominent in mainstream media; Laverne Cox recently became the first transgender person to appear on the cover of TIME, Amazon’s Transparent is one of the most popular shows on television, and Bruce Jenner’s transition to Caitlyn was followed closely all over the country, eventually landing her Glamour’s “Woman of the Year” title. But away from Hollywood spotlights, parents and caregivers still need resources on caring for children who don’t fit into the gender binary. This is a sensitive topic, but one that needs to be addressed,

Developmental and clinical psychologist Diane Ehrensaft, PhD, is acutely aware of this need, having devoted her career to the care of gender-nonconforming children and teens. With The Gender Creative Child: Pathways for Nurturing and Supporting Children Who Live Outside Gender Boxes, she provides an all-in-one resource on caring for children whose gender expression is fluid or who question the gender they were assigned at birth.

Diane will be giving a talk, followed by a Q&A and book signing.
