The Good Ancestor
by Roman Krznaric

Described by U2’s The Edge as “the book that our children’s children will thank us for reading,” The Good Ancestor is an antidote to humanity’s extreme short-sightedness, a condition that harms our planet—and the human race. Author Roman Krznaric presents readers with six strategies to reframe our thinking to favor the long-term, based on his experience as a public philosopher. At a critical juncture in our existence, this book is a crucial call-to-action: to save the Earth and future generations by becoming good ancestors through the power of long-term thinking.

If You Go with Your Goat to Vote
by Jan Zauzmer and Andrew Roberts

If You Go with Your Goat to Vote is soon to be one of the cutest children’s voting books on the market, and is the ideal read for little ones ahead of November’s election. With help from fourteen adorable animal families, young readers will learn what to expect when visiting the polls with their parents or caregivers: from waiting in line, entering the voting booth, waiting for the results, and everything in between. Unlike most voting books for kids, which typically describe the history or importance of voting, this is one of the few books that describes the actual experience of voting for all little ones who accompany the adults in their lives to the polls.

Monarchs of the Sea
by Danna Staaf

Monarchs of the Sea is a delightful history of some of Earth’s oldest creatures: cephalopods. Authored by Danna Staaf, a squid scientist and skilled science communicator, this book gives readers a deeper understanding of how squid, octopuses, cuttlefish, and all of their alien-like relatives came to exist as we know them today. You won’t want to miss her descriptions of how, among other tricks, cephalopods came to sport tentacles and arms (two different appendages!), camouflage themselves perfectly in seconds, and use jet-propulsion to move around. Monarchs of the Sea is a deeply informative and captivating history of creatures that still fascinate us today.
